Megan Alpert's poems have appeared in Quarterly West, Sixth Finch, Harvard Review, Denver Quarterly, and Green Mountains Review, among others. In 2017, her manuscript, The Animal at Your Side, was a finalist for the National Poetry Series. She has also won an Orlando Poetry Prize from A Room of Her Own Foundation and has been a fellow at Vermont Studio Center, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and is currently a resident at the Evolve Marquette Creative Residency. 

Her journalism has been published by The Atlantic, Smithsonian, The Guardian, and Foreign Policy, where she was a fellow. In 2016, she received an Adelante reporting fellowship from the International Women's Media Foundation. From 2017-2018, she worked as a senior editor at Snopes.com.  

She lives in Washington, DC, where she often performs at local reading series, including The Inner Loop and Sparkle DC, where she was a featured reader in March 2017.
